I borrowed a friend's little hd camera, and want to transfer footage to my macbook. Anyone here know how I can do this? If you can help me, I'm sitting in the fishbowl (the studio closest to the elevator). Thanks.

IDEA / CLAIM:
— prepare a two paragraph statement that delineates the question you are setting forth and how you will investigate it through a visual,
formal and immersive system (your claim, your argument, your system (i.e narrative sequence, media and spatial properties) and proposed execution.

FORMAL EXECUTIONS: system of thought & its behaviour
— We will review your idea alongside formal studies that bring that idea to life. You should be able to present your idea to us and back it up with work.
All components must be addressed: use of media, use of space and temporality (location, duration etc) The project mapping as a whole.

—video and sound studies: in actual form. I want to see variations on execution (rough cuts of all components) : camera angles, colour usage, timing,lighting etc
—installation / space: bring in models, renderings (if you are building a structure) or photographs that document your site if site-specific.
—Do studies on site or on model: for instance: project your video on your 'space' and see how it behaves, address questions and potential problems now.
— bring in: storyboards / any other media that informs your piece

— CONCEPTUAL PARAMETERS:
—your past assignments as reference point / point of departure.
—focus / incorporate notions of negation, disappearance, documentary, process, situation as they apply to subjectivity, language, temporality and space.
—articulate and prioritize these parameters at will, however they must create a visual, spatial and auditory system that gives form to your idea & proposed execution.
— Use this assignment to expand upon your current practice and interests. (but not as filler)

INSTALLATION OPTIONS:
— create / build a structure for an installation that uses video & sound as an inherent components.
—re-approriate an existing location and create a site-specific intervention

so I can stay in the loop please post your work / presentation ideas from this week here (for your last assignment: video installation) i'd like to get a sense of what you have in mind (a text describing your idea, rough cuts, structural sketches , site specific documentation will do)

for next class please bring in executed comps for ONE idea (the best of the 2 you presented this week). Bring any material that supports / informs your idea including a refinement on elements above: rough cuts, site-specific documentation and / or installation structure comps.

the most important thing is to create immersive spatial temporalities that move us.

I will post what's due for next week soon, Aaron will take over while I am away, he can review past assignments as well, he's very savvy so this might be a great opportunity to get additional feedback.
