I think that your video depends a little bit in the resolution quality, I got a peek at your video in the maclab and the resolution was so much sharper than the youtube bul&*%^& , I suggest you Open a vimeo account, www.vimeo.com I think you can upload files 5 times bigger instead of 100, 500MB
- needs some audio / verbal reference as to what this piece is about, so that it does not remain purely at an aesthetic level, this is a piece in which you establish a POV to your sense of 'reality' (autobiographical) how is this integrated in your work is the question that needs to be addressed
be more precise as to when the screen splits and why (it does so vertically & horizontally now): this is again related to the story you are portraying, so that decisions don't seem arbitrary of purely form driven. take a look at doug aitken's piece: ERASER http://www.vidoemo.com/yvideo.php?doug-aitken-eraser-1999=&i=NGhVT1MzcWuRpTkFPWTA where two screens converge into one another examining a sense of renewal and obliteration, repetition and erasure

the line that separates or unites each frame (in split screen) is a membrane, a boundary, and as such serves as powerful mediator for content. if this line, this membrane is you (your sense of being, your perception), then how does it stitch or dissolve the voices at their sides? look at the division itself and the role it plays (as a character in the narrative). how fuid is it? how permeable is it? does it move up and down, as in old tv sets with bad reception?
sound sound sound!! is what will define this piece and how we perceive it!
right now:
intro part needs some establishing, or maybe take out all together first cut to split screen seems a bit forced now,
screen on left is too jumpy (scale of frames & content, ranging from abstract spaces to figures) gets more interesting around minute 1, where the dialogue between a 'glitched' landscape creates tension with the fuid landscape on the right, maybe there are instances where these overlap?... this will be greatly determined buy your storyline and sound
Thanks much for all the comments, they're extremely helpful. I realized I probably was too focused on an specific editing techniques rather than the overall schema and vision. I will post a revised video asap... Thanks again! m
